Onward and Upward

Progress! I am 99% done my first mitten in the round. I have to note that knitting thumbs on DPNs is the devils work. Knitting is not meant to be done in an area smaller than a single square inch. The next thing puzzling me is how I'm going to weave in the ends with a self striping yarn. It's a mystery. As was my improvisational ending to the top of my mitten. Elizabeth Zimmerman's instruction was essentially reduce down to 20 sts and weave in the ends. But I do love to express my creativity, and that I did :). I worked on the purse that is for someone else yet I wish it was for me. Black wool with silver metallic yarn here and there. Very cute. Tonight I'll relax with my purple scarf.
